Pheasant's Nest

This 6'9" column is made out of a cement-like substance called
“darjit” covering various types of wire. It is a planter with two
succulents currently growing in it. Above the pheasant, at its
top. are wires strung with beads and long crystals. When the sun hits
them, the beads and crystals light up and send colorful light dancing
everywhere. The window is made from dichroic glass. It really shines
when the sun is out. The base of the column is decorated with antique
clear bottles that turned purple long ago. The bottles were broken in
the 2010 Eureka, CA earthquake. Bad news for the antique dealer was
good news for me. Broken pieces can find new life in art.
